To this end, we provide complimentary resources, advocacy campaigns, and local personal support to build scalable financial wellness initiatives throughout Arizona.

Strengthening Arizona with Sustainable Economic Empowerment Programming

The mission of the Arizona Financial Educators Council℠ is to build sustainable, scalable economic empowerment programs that have a real impact on people’s lives at the community level. To accomplishing this mission, we focus on these 3 Pillars:

Pillar 1: Increase Access & Develop Sustainable Financial Education Programming.

Organizations – We provide resources, training, personnel, and support to build scalable financial wellness programming.

Individuals & Families – Resources and courses are provided for those seeking to improve their own finances and/or teach their kids about money.

Pillar 2: Raise Awareness for Economic Empowerment through Financial Education.

Advocacy Promotion Campaigns – We promote the adoption of financial literacy into schools, getting families involved in teaching kids about money, and encouraging individuals to improve their knowledge.

Local Financial Education Data – Conducting and curating Arizona-specific personal finance research to share with stakeholders across the education and media sectors.

Pillar 3: Develop Relationships to Deploy and Sustain Community Financial Wellness.

Arizona Financial Literacy

The Grand Canyon State helps its citizens and organizations obtain information and resources aimed at increasing overall financial capability statewide, through the Arizona financial literacy drive. This effort, spearheaded by the Arizona Financial Educators Council℠, is dedicated to improving Arizona financial literacy levels. The Arizona financial literacy movement is one piece of a larger national initiative that provides organizations and individuals with access to personal finance resources and information.

Arizona Financial Literacy Legislation & Educational Stats

Arizona’s pupil/teacher ratio is substantially higher than the U.S. average (23.1 in Arizona compared to the 16.06 national average). The Grand Canyon State boasts 2,398 total schools and over a million students as of 2014-15, according to state education profile data collected by the Common Core of Data (a U.S. Department of Education program conducted through the National Center for Education Statistics). More than 48,000 teachers are currently employed in Arizona public schools.
As of 2015 the primary financial literacy-related policy adopted by the Arizona legislature – through H.C.R. 2034 – has been to recognize April as Financial Literacy Month, to be observed by organizations, businesses, and Arizona residents.

The Arizona Financial Educators Council℠ is a statewide organization established in 2017. Its work toward improving financial capabilities among Arizonans is part of a broader initiative directed by the National Financial Educators Council®. The goal of NFEC® is to create community campaigns working together toward common financial education objectives.
